This privacy policy describes how ETH Game Dev Club collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our services.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is handled in a safe and responsible manner.
1. Who we are

2. Website Hosting
Our website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA). When visiting our website, limited technical data such as IP address and browser information may be processed for security and performance purposes. This processing is based on legitimate interest (website operation and security).
3. Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to understand general website usage. This data is aggregated and does not directly identify individuals.
4. Newsletter
By signing up for our newsletter, you consent to receiving email updates about events and activities. Your address will be stored with mailjet in a GDPR-compliant manner and will not leave the EU and Switzerland. Also refer to the mailjet privacy policy for more information: Mailjet Privacy Policy. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email you receive from us through this channel, and your data will be deleted within 30 days. We will never share your contact information with third parties.
We will never collect other data about you without your explicit consent.
5. Membership Signup
When you submit an application or sign-up form, we may collect:
- Name
- Email address
- LinkedIn URL (optional)
- Motivation text (optional)
- CV file (optional)
This information is used for:
- managing club membership
- organizing activities
- identifying potential collaborators
- internal recruitment within the club
- connecting members with industry partners and sponsors
We only collect data that you voluntarily provide.
6. Storage and Infrastructure
Application data is encrypted and stored on servers operated within ETH Zürich student infrastructure (SOSETH) in Switzerland.
7. Sharing with Sponsors
ETH Game Dev Club collaborates with external companies and industry partners. If you submit a CV or application:
- your data may be shared with selected sponsors
- sharing happens only when relevant (e.g., hiring interest, talent requests)
- data shared may include: name, email, LinkedIn, CV
- data is not publicly published
We do not sell personal data. If you do not wish your data to be shared with sponsors, you may contact us to request removal.
8. Data Retention
We keep application data as long as it remains relevant for club activities and talent opportunities.
You can request deletion at any time
9. Access to Data
Access to stored application data is restricted to the club board for organizational and recruitment purposes.
In practice, access is limited to a small number of authorized organizers.
10. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- request access to your stored data
- request correction
- request deletion
- withdraw consent

11. Security Measures
We implement appropriate safeguards including HTTPS encryption, restricted server access, encrypted file storage, controlled administrator access.
